Sacred Treasure: Gullinbursti

Basic Introduction

Lady Toida was born as the daughter of Masahira Kobayakawa – the head of the Numata-Kobayakawa clan, which was the head family of the Kobayakawa clan – but because Masahira was 21 when he died, his older brother, Shigehira, succeeded the Numata-Kobayakawa clan seat, but Shigehira became blind at a young age. In 1550, he was detained by Yoshitaka Ōuchi and Motonari Mōri under the suspicion of liaison with the Amago clan, and he was forced to retire and enter the priesthood.
In 1551, she was married to the third son of Motonari Mōri, Takakage, who was adopted into and succeeding the Takehara-Kobayakawa clan. This way, the two clans were reunited. Although there were no children between the two, Takakage did not take a concubine, as their relationship was harmonious. However, the Kobayakawa bloodline ceased, and for that reason, they adopted Motonari's youngest son, Mototsuna (later named Hidekane) to succeed the family name.
夫・隆景の死後は毛利氏長州転封にしたがって、義兄・吉川元春の外孫で隆景の旧臣でもある益田景祥の給領地周防国吉敷郡問田に移り住んだため、問田の大方と呼ばれた。 Her tomb is in Yamaguchi at Taiunji Temple.

Role In Games

Lady Toida first shows up in Spirit of Sanada alongside Takakage and allies, Magoichi Saika and Hisahide Matsunaga, during the Battle of Ishiyama.

In Warriors Orochi 4, Lady Toida appears with the rest of her family in the side story, "A Million Hearts as One." Despite being unsure of their whereabouts, they helped Dian Wei save the peasants from the Demon Army. Spontaneously, she muses that the strange circumstances they found themselves in gave her an idea for a short story. She is playable after the conclusion of this battle.
